Meet Tim...

Father | Husband | Rancher | Community Leader | Veterinarian

Aloha, My name is Herbert "Tim" Richards, currently the elected Councilmember representing you and District 9. Due to the redistricting in the Hawaii State Senate and the vacancy in Senate District 4, I've chosen to run for Hawaii State Senate District four. Hawaii State Senate district 4 runs from North Kona, (Costco Road) through Waikoloa, includes Puako, Kawaihae, to North Kohala, Waikii Ranch, Waimea (Kamuela) Waipio Valley, Honokaa, Paauailo, Laupahoehoe and the Hamakua Coast, and Pepeekeo. Basicly the entire North end of Hawaii Island.

Who is Dr. Herbert M. "Tim" Richards III? Let me start by telling you a little about myself and how this helps you and your community.

I'm a veterinarian at Veterinary Associates Inc. in Waimea, a passionate advocate for building a more robust agriculture industry. I'm currently serving my third term as your Councilmember for District 9.

Iʻm a sixth-generation "kama'aina" resident of Hawaii and third generation to the Big Island. Born and raised in North Kohala, Tim grew-up working on the family-owned and operated Kahua Ranch, a cattle and sheep operation that also had greenhouse farming, growing tomatoes, lettuce, and long stem carnations. Through these life experiences, he developed a deep appreciation for the lands of Hawaii and the people who work and steward those lands.

Through collaborative partnerships in our community, I bring people together – especially those who have no seat at the table. As an island in the middle of the Pacific, we must come together to become more "self-reliant" and united as one Hawaii Island.

My vision;

  • Ignite the agriculture industry to power our local economy.
  • Develop renewable energy options for Big Island.
  • Update our infrastructure.
  • Responsibly manage and steward our land.
  • Take care of our homeless neighbors.
  • Spark economic growth.

Together, we can build a healthier and more sustainable Hawaii Island.

Vote Tim Richards

Building Bridges = Solutions for you!

I humbly ask for your vote in the 2022 Election for the Hawaii State Senate District 4.

With my profound appreciation,
Tim
